RAAVE TAPES are using their self-branded sparkly dance punk to take the “bro” out of “celebration”, one party at a time.
Following their 2017 singles “2 U XOXO” and “k bye”, RAAVE TAPES have enjoyed strong backing from radio institutions such as triple j, 4ZZZ, and RTRFM, with both songs gaining a healthy rotation after their release. This national exposure has been amplified by the response to their endearing take on the Saddle Club mythos in the “k bye” music video, the clip racking up over 200,000+ views. This was quickly affirmed by support from bands around the country, supporting the likes of Northeast Party House, Hockey Dad, and The Gooch Palms.
New single, SUDS addresses the belief that intoxication isn’t an acceptable excuse for poor behaviour. This is the ethos RAAVE TAPES convey in their live show, where having fun is paramount - as long as it’s not at the expense of another individual.
RAAVE TAPES have additionally established themselves as ingenious organisers in their own right, taking over popular nightclubs in their hometown and transforming them into one-off festivals highlighting musical talent from around the country. Recently finishing their nine-date national tour with a 17 act, three room venue take over at The Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle. This headline performance saw 800+ revellers sell out the venue, with help from friends such as Haiku Hands, Press Club, Totty + more.
This has been brought full circle in their transition into festival favourites, seeing them take the stage at events including This That, Festival of the Sun, Mountain Sounds, Yours & Owls, and Groovin’ The Moo.
The rest of the year will see RAAVE TAPES hinting some festival dates, new music and more heading into an even busier 2019.
